Senior EHS Manager

About the role

Applied Materials is seeking a Senior EHS Manager to lead environmental, health and safety programs for its R&D operations in California and Oregon. Reporting to the Director of EHS, you will partner with site management and cross‑functional teams to ensure regulatory compliance and drive continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and direct the EHS team, aligning activities with global programs and coaching staff.
• Oversee health and safety functions for R&D sites, tracking performance against established metrics.
• Conduct investigations of incidents, drive corrective actions, and ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, fire and building codes.
• Lead audits, inspections, and management reviews, reporting results to senior leadership.
• Manage contractor safety, integrate EHS requirements into projects, and support emergency preparedness.
• Represent the company with regulatory authorities and external experts.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental, Health & Safety, Engineering, Industrial Hygiene or related field.
• 8‑15+ years of EHS experience, including leadership responsibilities.

Required skills

• Knowledge of OSHA, EPA, NFPA and other applicable regulations.
• Strong analytical, written and oral communication abilities.
