Electrical Motor Design Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a senior Electrical Motor Design Engineer to lead the creation of electric motors from concept through production. The role is based in Houston and involves close collaboration with CAD designers, manufacturing, and leadership teams to deliver high‑performance motor solutions for industrial markets.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop electric motors from initial concept to production release.
• Lead motor design covering electromagnetic, thermal, and mechanical aspects.
• Work with Senior CAD Designers to produce detailed 3D models and manufacturing drawings using SolidWorks.
• Drive prototype development, testing, validation, and design optimization.
• Support custom motor solutions and product improvements for HVAC, automation, food equipment, and medical/lab applications.
• Evaluate materials, components, and manufacturing methods to enhance efficiency and reliability.
• Participate in R&D initiatives related to automation, advanced manufacturing, and next‑generation products.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship within the engineering team.

Required profile

• 15+ years of experience in electric motor design and development.
• Proven track record of designing motors from scratch.
• Strong expertise with SolidWorks and CAD‑driven development environments.
• Deep understanding of motor performance, electromagnetic principles, thermal management, and manufacturability.
• Experience in industrial markets such as HVAC, automation systems, food equipment, or medical/lab systems is preferred.
