Electrical & Instrumentation Engineer Summer Intern

About the role

Baisch Engineering is seeking a motivated Electrical & Instrumentation Engineering Summer Intern to join its Appleton, Wisconsin office. This paid, in‑person internship offers hands‑on experience on a variety of industrial projects, from brand‑new facilities to system upgrades.

Key responsibilities

• Assist design engineers with system analysis using SKM, EasyPower, or ETAP for arc‑flash studies.
• Develop construction drawing sets with Revit, AutoCAD, and Navisworks.
• Support programming tasks for DCS, PLC, and HMI platforms.
• Learn and apply BIM protocols to ensure coordinated project deliverables.
• Gain familiarity with building codes, NEC, and OSHA requirements for power distribution and process controls.

Required profile

• Enrolled in an Electrical, Instrumentation, or Controls engineering program.
• Eager to learn, self‑motivated, and comfortable working in a collaborative team environment.
• Interest in cutting‑edge technologies and industrial design challenges.

Required skills

• Experience or coursework with SKM, EasyPower, or ETAP.
• Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and Navisworks.
• Basic knowledge of DCS, PLC, and HMI programming.
• Understanding of BIM processes.
