Electrical Engineer – Propulsion & Engine Systems Electronics

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to lead the design, development, and validation of propulsion and engine system electronics. You will translate system‑level requirements into robust PCB solutions and support engine test and field operations.

Key responsibilities

• Full‑cycle PCB design using Altium: schematic capture, high‑density layout, component selection, bring‑up, test, debug, and integration with propulsion systems.
• Design and optimize flight controller, power distribution, motor controller, and electromagnetic actuator circuits.
• Perform circuit simulations, worst‑case and thermal analyses, DFMEA, and component derating for extreme vibration and temperature environments.
• Lead board bring‑ups, design verification testing (DVT), qualification testing, and functional testing.
• Collaborate with mechanical, thermal, software, test, quality, manufacturing, and systems engineering teams.
• Conduct peer and cross‑discipline design reviews and root‑cause/failure analysis for engine tests.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering with 5+ years of experience in complex board design, testing, and troubleshooting.
• Strong fundamentals in analog, digital, and power electronics.
• Eligibility to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance.

Required skills

• Altium Designer (or equivalent) for schematic and layout.
• LTSpice (or equivalent) for circuit simulation.
• Laboratory equipment: oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, thermal chambers, spectrum analyzers, function generators, DMMs, electronic loads, power supplies, test automation tools.
• Standard interfaces and protocols: CAN, I2C, SPI, Ethernet.
• Familiarity with common MCU/CPU architectures.
