Electrical Engineer - MLCC Ceramics

About the role

Kyocera-AVX is looking for an Electrical Engineer to support its Ceramics subsegment, covering the full range of MLCC (multi-layer ceramic capacitors) across Development, Production and Quality. The engineer works with the product design team on design, simulation, analysis, unit testing and release to manufacturing, and acts as the link between New Product Development, New Product Introduction and manufacturing and qualification test results.

Key responsibilities

• Develop equipment testing standards, from electrical screening to voltage breakdown, and design custom tests for customer inquiries
• Analyze capacitor failure modes after testing
• Design basic circuit components and perform calculations under the direction of engineering leadership
• Troubleshoot circuit issues and resolve root causes
• Test basic circuits or system components per approved test plans and collect results in a structured format
• Research and analyze components for design selection
• Communicate known issues and potential risks to the design team and help resolve them
• Work within company budget and schedule plans to deliver projects on time

Required profile

• Preferred: Electrical Engineer with at least 2 years of post-graduate industry experience
• Bachelor's degree in Electronics or Electrical Engineering
• Experience operating production equipment, including electrical test, sort and screening
• Experience with failure analysis, determining method of failure and root cause
• Effective internal and external communication, problem solving and continuous improvement mindset
