Elasticsearch Engineer

About the role

CACI is seeking an Elasticsearch Engineer to support advanced search, analytics and data engineering initiatives for mission-critical acquisition and contract lifecycle management systems. The role is full time, remote (any state), requires a Secret clearance to start, and involves up to 10% travel within the continental US. It suits an experienced engineer who can deliver robust, scalable solutions across complex data ecosystems.

Key responsibilities

• Design and optimize Elasticsearch clusters, indexes, mappings and data models at scale
• Build dashboards, scripted queries, alerting and analytics in Kibana
• Help lead ingestion and extraction workflows with Apache NiFi and improve the Procurement Integrated Enterprise Environment (PIEE)
• Tune performance, monitor cluster health and resilience, and plan upgrades of the Elastic Stack
• Lead technical decisions in SAFe teams and mentor junior engineers

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field, or equivalent experience
• Six or more years of progressive engineering experience, including 2+ years of hands-on Elasticsearch work
• Expert knowledge of Elasticsearch internals, cluster tuning, scaling, shard allocation and snapshots
• Advanced Kibana experience and strong SQL and PL/SQL skills with Oracle or PostgreSQL
• Experience with AWS services such as S3, RDS and EKS, or equivalent cloud platforms
• Able to obtain a DoD Secret clearance
