Educator for After‑School Program

About the role

Apollo After School is seeking enthusiastic educators to provide high‑quality after‑school care and enrichment for elementary students in Chicago. This seasonal, part‑time position runs with the school district calendar for the 2026‑2027 year.

Key responsibilities

• Provide a safe, engaging learning environment before care, recess, and after care periods.
• Assist with classroom curriculum implementation and weekly lesson plans as needed.
• Support students with homework completion and ensure their safety and security.
• Maintain routine schedules, attract and retain students through enthusiasm and teaching skill.

Required profile

• Minimum high school diploma or equivalent; degree in education valued but not required.
• At least one year experience working with children ages 4‑10 in a school or after‑school setting.
• Current CPR and First Aid certification obtained through in‑person training.
• Ability to manage an elementary classroom independently and collaborate with a team.
