About the role
The Early Refugee School Impact Specialist supports IRC’s early childhood programming for refugee families in Wichita, Kansas. Working directly with caregivers of children ages 0‑5, the specialist helps families navigate childcare options, preschool services, and connects them to essential resources.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct program intakes and provide clear information on early childhood services.
- Develop and distribute resource materials for refugee families.
- Build and maintain partnerships with local childcare centers and preschool providers.
- Monitor program quality, collect data, and produce outcome reports.
- Serve as a community referral point for educational programs and services.
- Design and facilitate workshops, activities, and support services that promote positive outcomes for refugee children and families.
Required profile
- Passion for serving refugee and immigrant communities.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Experience working with early childhood or family support programs.
- Ability to collaborate with external partners and stakeholders.
Required skills
- Knowledge of early childhood education best practices.
- Familiarity with data collection and reporting tools.
- Ability to create culturally appropriate educational resources.
