Early Head Start Teacher (Infants & Toddlers)

About the role
The Early Head Start Teacher works alongside a co‑teacher to design and deliver individualized and group learning experiences for infants and toddlers. The role focuses on fostering social‑emotional, physical, and cognitive development while ensuring a safe, nurturing classroom environment.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and implement lesson plans that support all developmental domains and prepare children for preschool.
- Guide daily classroom activities, field trips, and small‑group sessions, maintaining a developmentally appropriate setting.
- Conduct parent conferences and home visits to share child progress and support family engagement.
- Maintain accurate records, assessments, and portfolios for each child in both paper and online systems.
- Collaborate with program aides and volunteers, providing coaching and supervision.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations and uphold Save the Children’s safeguarding policies.
Required profile
- Experience working with infants and toddlers in an early childhood setting.
- Strong commitment to child safety, confidentiality, and family partnership.
- Ability to work collaboratively with co‑teachers, aides, and volunteers.
