Driver's Education Instructor

About the role

The Driver's Education Instructor delivers classroom and behind‑the‑wheel training to prepare students for safe, responsible driving. This part‑time position serves all campuses of North Georgia Technical College and follows the state‑approved curriculum.

Key responsibilities

• Teach state‑approved driver education classroom courses covering Joshua’s Law, defensive driving, and traffic regulations.
• Provide one‑on‑one behind‑the‑wheel instruction in a certified driver education vehicle.
• Evaluate student performance, maintain required records, and ensure a safe learning environment.
• Collaborate with students, parents, and colleagues to promote safe driving practices.

Required profile

• Associate’s degree (minimum) and at least seven years of work experience.
• Valid driver’s license for at least ten years with a clear Motor Vehicle Report.
• Ability to pass DOT physical, drug testing, and complete the state‑approved Instructor Qualification course.
• High school diploma or GED, age 21 or older.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint for instruction and communication.
• Strong commitment to student safety and welfare.
