Division Controller

About the role

Kyocera AvX is looking for a Division Controller to administer the financial function of a division, with responsibility for and/or global financial reporting. The role works closely with department heads, the operations manager and executive leadership to maximise profitability, project the company's assets and ensure adherence to corporate and division financial policies.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain accurate books of account and financial records, ensuring reliable data for reporting and analysis
• Manage general accounting functions, including inventory, cost and fixed assets accounting
• Report and interpret financial results, measuring performance against budgets and forecasts
• Prepare budgets and forecasts
• Develop, implement and enforce financial controls to protect assets and profitability
• Ensure compliance with corporate financial policies and procedures
• Perform cost and financial analysis and give technical guidance on financial and cost matters to operations managers and department heads
• Identify profit opportunities and help implement profit improvement projects
• Ensure sound financial management in offshore plants
• Control capital expenditures and justify capital and major expense proposals

Required profile

• BA/BS degree in Accounting required; CPA and/or MBA preferred
• 6 to 10 years of accounting and financial management experience, at least 5 in a supervisory role
• Experience in a high technology manufacturing environment preferred
• Ability to develop and maintain financial policies in a large manufacturing business
• Superior oral and written communication skills
