Collections Specialist II

About the role

Kyocera-AVX is hiring a Collections Specialist II in Fountain Inn, South Carolina. The role reviews customer accounts regularly for debt owed to the company, works closely with the Credit Manager, and communicates with customers, regional sales managers and sales representatives about account status.

Key responsibilities

• Collect on an assigned portfolio of high-volume accounts and consignment sales
• Keep the Credit Manager informed of potential problems
• Use collection system tools (invoices, conversation documentation, credits, debits) to collect outstanding debt and reduce DSO
• Apply GetPaid collection strategies and maintain the collection inbox in Get Paid
• Maintain accurate and current customer billing information and invoice data
• Follow up on proof of delivery claims and review orders held by shipping or credit departments
• Assist with cash application requests such as credit/debit matching and perform account reconciliation
• Analyze debit/credit transactions and tariff reports to resolve discrepancies between shipment data and billing
• Identify root causes of issues that prevent cash collection and propose process improvements

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree in Accounting, Business or a related field preferred
• 3-5 years of experience in accounts receivable, collections and/or credit
• Strong interpersonal communication skills and ability to resolve customer issues
• Well organized, able to work with minimal supervision, with attention to detail and critical thinking

Required skills

• Knowledge of computer systems and Oracle, SAP ERP
• Advanced Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook)
• Advanced Excel tools such as queries, VLOOKUP and pivot tables
