Division Clerk – Medical Unit

About the role

The Division Clerk provides essential clerical and receptionist support to the 4D Medical Unit at Lutheran Hospital. Working evenings, the clerk ensures smooth communication between nursing staff, physicians, and other departments while maintaining accurate records.

Key responsibilities

• Accurately transcribe and process all orders, notifying RN of urgent items.
• Prepare, maintain, and process patient charts and schedule diagnostics/appointments.
• Handle communications between the nursing unit, physicians, and other departments with confidentiality.
• Inventory, order, and store supplies as directed and maintain a neat work area.
• Navigate facility computer systems (ADTR, computer order entry, charge entry, electronic medical records).

Required profile

• High School Diploma or GED; knowledge of medical terminology.
• Ability to work independently under pressure, maintain confidentiality, and provide courteous customer service.
• Physical ability to sit for extended periods and perform manual tasks.

Required skills

• Basic office equipment and computer proficiency.
• Experience with ADTR and computer order entry systems.
• Charge entry and electronic medical record navigation.
