District Manager - 11 Stores, San Diego

About the role

Monro, a company-owned automotive repair chain, is looking for a District Manager to run 11 store locations in San Diego and parts of the Inland Empire. The District Manager leads the entire operations of the 10 stores in the district, supervising Store Managers directly and reporting to the Zone Manager.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, hire, train, counsel and retain store managers and teammates so that financial goals are met
• Set expectations on company standards, policies and procedures, and support personal and company goals
• Develop store managers into culture-change leaders who deliver a consistent 5-star guest experience
• Keep stores staffed according to workforce planning standards and manage budgets and capital expenses to exceed objectives
• Visit every store at least once per quarter, track action items and follow up with Store Managers
• Enforce safety, security, policy and reporting standards across the district
• Manage district inventory, maintain knowledge of local competitors and complete Monro University training
• Communicate with the Store Support Center and other departments, and travel frequently within the district

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent; associate's or bachelor's degree in Business is a plus
• Minimum of 5 years of management experience; prior multi-unit retail management strongly preferred
• Tire or automotive-related business preferred
• Valid driver's license and satisfactory motor vehicle report
• Flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, and ability to travel within the district

Required skills

• Managing a team of 10+ people, including hiring, training, coaching, performance reviews and disciplinary actions
• Experience managing a P&L and reading financial documents
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office
