Distribution Center Production Planning Manager

About the role

HD Supply is looking for a Distribution Center Production Planning Manager who manages the execution of production and labor plans within a distribution center. The role focuses on day-to-day operations to meet key performance indicators and keep the building flow smooth, working closely with distribution center departments to develop staffing plans, forecast labor needs and improve operational efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the production planning process with the local distribution center leadership team, including forecasting labor and equipment needs, creating staffing plans and adjusting them in real time to meet daily, weekly and seasonal production goals.
• Coordinate building resources and work with local departments to align on and execute production plans, holding cross-departmental meetings to monitor progress and resolve issues.
• Partner with human resources and leadership to manage staffing needs, including scheduled time off, so the workforce is available.
• Identify and resolve backlogs by analyzing bottlenecks, reallocating resources and improving processes.
• Monitor key performance indicators and adjust plans to meet operational targets.
• Educate and train the local leadership team on production planning processes, tools and best practices.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in business administration or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in production planning and warehouse management (the text also notes 7+ years typically required).
• Able to analyze situations, make decisions and manage a group of professional contributors or indirectly supervise support staff.
