Distribution Center Manager (Overnight)

About the role

HD Supply is looking for an Overnight Distribution Center Manager to lead the operation of a distribution center in support of company goals. The manager gives input and feedback on all operations processes and results to the DC Manager, and supports planning, budgeting, fleet management, compliance and inventory management. The role involves occasional overnight travel (5% to 20% of the time).

Key responsibilities

• Provide departmental input to the DC Manager on operating plans for warehouse and transportation, covering facility, equipment and staff.
• Identify the financial resources needed for the operating plan, justify costs and help develop department operating budgets.
• Recommend and implement process improvements, and run routine analyses of functions, processes and asset utilization.
• Ensure associates comply with safety, Hazmat, legal and HR rules, and report safety and security issues to the DC Manager.
• Manage the performance of Assistant Managers and hourly associates, and coach, train and take corrective action when needed.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in a related field; advanced degrees may offset less experience.
• 7+ years of experience in a distribution center, including 3+ years of management experience.
• Ability to manage a team of professional contributors and indirectly supervise support staff.

Work conditions

• Regular exposure to temperature extremes, moving machinery, loud noises and fumes.
• Intermittent periods of continuous physical exertion, including lifting and maneuvering heavy or awkward loads (50+ pounds).
