Director Strategic Sourcing

About the role

An established medical technology manufacturer is looking for a senior sourcing leader to design and elevate its global supplier strategy. Based in the Greater Seattle area, this full‑time, on‑site role will shape sourcing processes that support rapid growth and manufacturing scalability.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement a forward‑looking global sourcing roadmap aligned with business expansion plans.
• Lead complex supplier negotiations and negotiate long‑term commercial agreements.
• Improve cost structure through strategic category management and value‑engineering initiatives.
• Increase supply resilience via risk assessments, continuity planning, and diversified sourcing strategies.
• Establish clear performance expectations using supplier KPIs and data‑driven insights.
• Develop and mentor a high‑performing sourcing and procurement team.
• Embed sourcing strategy early in product development to ensure competitive cost positioning at launch.

Required profile

• 10+ years of experience in sourcing and procurement within industrial manufacturing, MedTech, pharmaceutical, or consumer‑goods environments.
• 3+ years of procurement leadership experience.
• Proven success managing global supplier networks.
• Strong commercial acumen and executive presence in high‑stakes negotiations.
• Experience building structured sourcing processes, governance, and performance‑management systems.
• Financial fluency with the ability to translate sourcing decisions into margin and working‑capital impact.
