Director, Software Engineering (Remote)

About the role

PointClickCare, a health tech company serving over 30,000 provider organizations, is hiring a Director, Software Engineering for a remote US role. The Director leads the engineering organization behind Transitions of Care, reporting to the VP, Engineering, and oversees roughly 50 engineers through 10-11 managers and senior managers. The role partners closely with Product Management to define roadmaps and align engineering strategy with business priorities.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with Product Management to develop and execute roadmaps balancing innovation, investment, operations and long-term platform strategy.
• Unify multiple engineering teams around clear priorities, shared objectives and cross-functional collaboration.
• Drive technical architecture decisions across Core and Application & Platform Services stacks, working with architecture and shared services teams.
• Coach and mentor managers and senior managers, and lead hiring, workforce planning and succession planning.
• Work with engineering, product, sales, customer success and executives to deliver large-scale initiatives.
• Champion Agile and Kanban and support the development and scaling of AI-driven products and services.

Required profile

• 15+ years of progressive software engineering experience, including significant leadership in complex technology organizations.
• Proven experience leading large engineering organizations through multiple layers of management.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field.
• Track record of organizational leadership, coaching leaders and building high-performing teams.

Required skills

• Software engineering best practices across the full software development lifecycle.
• Large-scale cloud-based solutions with Azure, AWS and/or Google Cloud Platform.
• Familiarity with modern AI technologies, with preference for those who have built and scaled AI-enabled products.
• Strong technical architecture background and ability to influence across engineering, product, sales, customer success and executive teams.

• US base salary range of $217,800 - $242,000 plus bonus and benefits, non-overtime eligible.
