Director, SEC Reporting

About the role

The Director, SEC Reporting leads a team responsible for preparing and distributing all periodic financial statements, ensuring compliance with Mastercard’s accounting policies, U.S. GAAP, and SEC requirements. Reporting to the VP, Controller – Financial Reporting, this role partners with multiple finance functions to deliver accurate and timely SEC filings.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and file SEC documents, including Forms 10-K, 10-Q, Proxy and other required filings.
• Ensure completeness, accuracy and fair presentation of the company’s financial statements under U.S. GAAP.
• Collaborate with Tax, FP&A, Treasury, Regional Controllership, Investor Relations, Legal and GBSC to capture key quarterly activities.
• Lead Disclosure Committee meetings and present technical accounting and complex transaction disclosures.
• Prepare quarterly Audit Committee materials and coordinate with external auditors.
• Maintain an effective control environment over financial reporting and external‑facing information.
• Leverage technology and automation to improve external reporting practices.
• Monitor new SEC and FASB disclosure requirements and update filings accordingly.
• Support training on new accounting pronouncements and corporate policies.
• Coach, mentor and develop SEC Reporting team members.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
• CPA certification required.
• Senior Manager or equivalent experience at a Big 4 public accounting firm or large public company.
• Strong technical accounting expertise and extensive SEC reporting experience.
