Director, Practical Nursing Program

About the role

The State of Georgia is seeking a dynamic leader to direct its Practical Nursing program across the Technical College System. This senior position combines instructional oversight with full administrative responsibility, ensuring the program meets accreditation standards and serves the needs of students and the healthcare community.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and manage all academic and operational activities of the Practical Nursing program on multiple campuses.
• Oversee curriculum development, instructional delivery, and evaluation to align with SACSCOC and GBON accreditation requirements.
• Supervise, evaluate, and support full‑time and part‑time faculty and staff.
• Prepare and maintain documentation for state licensing and accreditation reporting.
• Develop program budgets, manage supplies and equipment, and coordinate with the Assistant Vice President of Nursing.
• Represent the department at internal and external meetings and serve as a liaison with Technical College System of Georgia policies.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Nursing from an accredited institution.
• Unencumbered Registered Professional Nurse licensure.
• 3–5 years of experience as a registered nurse.
• Recent experience (within 7 years) teaching in a higher‑education setting.
• Prior supervisory experience in education or industry.
