Director of Workforce Education & Training

About the role

The Director of Workforce Education & Training leads a corporate education and training academy within the Workforce Innovation division. Reporting to the Executive Director, the role creates data‑informed, industry‑responsive programs that upskill workers and close regional workforce gaps in Wyandotte and Leavenworth counties.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with subject‑matter experts and continuing‑education staff to design pathways from non‑credit to credit programs and promote stackable credentials.
• Develop and deliver customized training solutions for employers, aligning curricula with labor‑market demand.
• Identify, engage, and secure new revenue streams related to customized training.
• Leverage advanced technology and data tools to evaluate program effectiveness and ensure alignment with industry needs.
• Supervise assigned staff, prepare performance reports, and manage the division’s budget.
• Assist in obtaining, implementing, and managing workforce‑related grants.
• Provide administrative and operational support for the Workforce Innovation division and support special projects as directed.

Required profile

• Extensive knowledge of workforce development principles, trends, and best practices in a community‑college setting.
• Familiarity with labor‑market information and regional industry demands.
• Experience designing credit, non‑credit, micro‑credential, and customized training programs.
• Proven ability to manage grants, budgets, and resource allocation.
• Strong communication and presentation skills for engaging diverse stakeholders.
