Director of Strategic Sourcing

About the role

Alcon is seeking a Director of Strategic Sourcing to lead procurement activities for its Houston site. The role is part of Alcon’s Supply Chain function and focuses on aligning sourcing strategies with business objectives while ensuring cost‑competitiveness and continuity of supply.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the primary procurement interface for the Houston location, aligning sourcing with operational goals.
• Build, hire, coach and manage a high‑performing procurement team.
• Drive a culture of accountability, collaboration and continuous improvement.
• Lead supplier performance management, including quarterly business reviews for critical suppliers.
• Develop and execute sourcing strategies that deliver cost savings, innovation and business continuity.
• Own site‑level budgeting, spend variance analysis and partnership with MS&T and Procurement COE.
• Ensure contract coverage, supply agreements and pricing terms are in place.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience (e.g., high school + 18 years, Associate + 14 years, etc.).
• Fluent English communication skills (read, write, speak).
• Minimum 10 years of relevant procurement or strategic sourcing experience.
