Director of Sales

About the role

Hotel Landy Orlando Universal Blvd., a Tribute Portfolio Hotel, is hiring a Director of Sales in Orlando, Florida. The role develops and executes integrated sales and marketing strategies across direct, e-commerce, PR and community partnership channels to maximise the hotel's revenue and market presence. The career path leads from Area Director to Regional Director of Sales and then to VP of Sales.

Key responsibilities

• Interview, select, train, schedule, coach and support associates so they meet brand and hotel standards.
• Use internal and external data to build strategic plans covering all business segments.
• Identify customer needs, craft offers and negotiate terms that increase revenue share.
• Monitor sales team performance against the annual marketing plan and correct shortfalls.
• Achieve annual hotel revenue goals set in the budget and maintain key account relationships.
• Prepare and maintain an annual marketing plan with measurable initiatives for each segment.
• Travel locally to make outside calls, promote the hotel and review the competition.
• Follow HHM's EarthView sustainability programme and perform other duties requested by management.

Required profile

• Four-year college degree required; advanced coursework in business administration, marketing and communications is a plus.
• Previous sales experience in a comparable hotel size and scope required; operations experience preferred.
• Public relations and community marketing experience required.
• Ability to work varying hours, including occasionally on holidays and weekends, and moderate travel between hotel and client sites.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Excel, Word, Delphi and access database tools.
• Effective oral and written presentations.
