Director of Sales

About the role

CivilGrid is a venture‑backed Series A startup delivering a civil design platform that helps utilities, engineers and municipalities manage underground data. The Director of Sales will own and grow the Engineering Firms and Government/DOT segments, leading a team of Account Executives and reporting to the SVP of Sales.

Key responsibilities

• Own the revenue plan, pipeline and forecast for the Engineering Firms and Government/DOT segments and report progress to the SVP of Sales.
• Manage and coach Account Executives, running deal strategy, pipeline reviews and stepping into deals when needed.
• Build a sales playbook for the Government/DOT segment in partnership with Marketing and Product.
• Define and prioritize target accounts across civil design firms, DOT groups, land survey firms and government agencies.
• Recruit, hire and onboard new Account Executives as the segments scale.
• Maintain high CRM (Salesforce) hygiene and forecasting discipline across both teams.

Required profile

• 7+ years of B2B sales experience, including at least 2 years in a direct sales management role with a team quota.
• Proven track record of consistent quota attainment both personally and as a manager.
• Experience selling into civil engineering, AEC firms, state or local government agencies, or similar long‑cycle technical environments.
• Comfortable operating as a player‑coach at an early‑stage company, building processes and playbooks from scratch.
• Excellent communication and executive presence to engage VP/SVP‑level buyers.
