Director of Respiratory Care Program

About the role

The Director of the Respiratory Care Program will lead the academic unit within the Division of Health Sciences at LSU‑Eunice. This senior faculty position is responsible for overall program effectiveness, accreditation compliance, and fiscal stewardship while ensuring high‑quality education for future respiratory therapists.

Key responsibilities

• Organize and assess program effectiveness, conduct ongoing reviews, and report outcomes to the Commission on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC).
• Develop and manage the program budget, fiscal planning, and resource allocation.
• Coordinate didactic, laboratory, and clinical education in partnership with the DCE and Medical Director.
• Maintain academic records, develop evaluation tools, and oversee student, faculty, and clinical agency surveys.
• Lead faculty and students, promote the respiratory care profession, and conduct regular faculty meetings.
• Participate in university committees, assist with student and faculty recruitment, and contribute to institutional welfare.

Required profile

• Advanced degree in respiratory care, health sciences, or a related field.
• Significant experience in respiratory care education and program administration.
• Thorough knowledge of CoARC standards and accreditation processes.
• Proven ability to manage budgets and oversee fiscal planning.
• Strong communication skills for interaction with university leadership and accreditation bodies.
