Director of Nursing

About the role

Indiana Treatment Centers is seeking an experienced Director of Nursing to lead nursing operations at its Mishawaka facility. This hands‑on leadership position oversees patient care, medication management, staffing, and regulatory compliance within a behavioral health setting.

Key responsibilities

• Lead nursing operations across all shifts, ensuring safe, high‑quality patient care.
• Recruit, onboard, schedule, and develop RNs and LPNs to maintain appropriate coverage.
• Oversee nursing assessments, withdrawal monitoring, medication administration, and clinical documentation.
• Maintain medication management systems, including MAR accuracy, reconciliation, storage, and controlled‑substance accountability.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurse practitioners, pharmacy partners, and facility leadership.
• Participate in incident reviews, infection prevention, emergency response, and quality‑improvement initiatives.
• Ensure ongoing readiness for regulatory and accreditation surveys, such as Joint Commission requirements.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse with extensive clinical experience in substance‑use disorder or behavioral health settings.
• Proven leadership ability to build and manage accountable nursing teams.
• Strong knowledge of medication management, patient safety, and regulatory standards.
• Excellent communication and interdisciplinary collaboration skills.
