Director of Maintenance (Full-Time)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Director of Maintenance to lead the maintenance and plant operations at Arnold Walter Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Hazlet, NJ. The role ensures a safe, comfortable, and well‑operated environment for residents and staff.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee all aspects of facility maintenance and plant operations.
• Coordinate daily department activities and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Conduct routine inspections of equipment, systems, and grounds.
• Supervise maintenance staff scheduling, assignments, and training.
• Maintain repair logs, inspection records, warranties, and compliance documentation.
• Ensure adherence to safety standards and facility regulations.
• Manage repairs, preventative maintenance, renovations, and emergency response needs.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of maintenance experience.
• Prior supervisory or management experience.
• Nursing home or healthcare maintenance experience preferred.
• Strong organizational and problem‑solving abilities.
• Ability to respond to emergency maintenance calls.

Required skills

• Knowledge of HVAC systems.
• Knowledge of plumbing systems.
• Knowledge of electrical systems.
• Familiarity with general building maintenance systems.
