Director of Insurance Finance & Risk Accounting

About the role

This senior leadership position will shape the financial architecture of a global construction company's insurance and captive programs. The Director will bridge Risk Management and Corporate Finance, delivering strategic reporting, forecasting, and process improvements to support executive decisions and long‑term growth.

Key responsibilities

• Lead tax, finance and accounting for the single‑parent captive, ensuring regulatory compliance, managing audits and optimizing capital, collateral and tax structures.
• Oversee claims accounting, loss reserving, collateral management and insurance allocations across construction insurance lines such as General Liability, Workers’ Compensation, Auto Liability, Builders Risk, Professional Liability, CCIPs and SDIs.
• Design and maintain scalable general‑ledger structures; implement and enhance RMIS platforms and ERP integrations while ensuring data integrity and usability.
• Drive automation, process improvement and reporting efficiencies across finance and risk functions.
• Partner with Risk Management and senior leadership on annual insurance renewals, building financial models to evaluate risk retention versus transfer and analyzing premiums, deductibles and collateral requirements.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in insurance accounting, captive finance and construction insurance programs.
• Proven ability to lead cross‑functional teams and partner with executive stakeholders.
• Strong knowledge of regulatory compliance, tax optimization and audit processes.
• Expertise in financial modeling, risk analysis and process automation.
