Director of Fiscal Services

About the role

The San Juan Unified School District is looking for a Director of Fiscal Services who will plan and administer all district fiscal services and lead its fiscal staff. The position may also act on behalf of the district chief financial officer (CFO) during the CFO's absence.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and administer all district fiscal services, including fund accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, auditing, disbursements, investments, cash flow management, payroll processing, disbursement and reporting, IRS compliance and reporting, budget development, budget controls and budget and financial reporting.
• Provide leadership and direction to district fiscal staff in accounting, budget, payroll and student attendance departments.
• Provide administrative leadership for district-wide fiscal operations and act on behalf of the CFO when needed.

Required profile

• Education or formal training equivalent to four years of college in accounting, business administration or financial management.
• Progressively responsible experience in accounting, budgeting, accounts payable, general ledger and financial analysis.
• One year of supervisory experience in a related field.
