Director of Financial Aid

About the role

The Director of Financial Aid leads SCIT's financial aid strategy, ensures compliance with federal and state regulations, and supports student success through accurate and timely aid services.

Key responsibilities

• Set vision, goals, and operating priorities for the Financial Aid Office aligned with institutional enrollment and revenue plans.
• Serve as senior Title IV compliance officer, overseeing eligibility, reporting, audits, and corrective actions.
• Oversee all aid processing, verification, packaging, disbursement, and reconciliation using EdExpress.
• Provide counseling to students and families, resolve complex aid issues, and lead financial literacy initiatives.
• Lead, develop, and manage the financial aid team, establishing performance metrics and fostering a culture of compliance.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in business, finance, education or related field.
• 7+ years of financial aid experience in higher education, with at least 3 years in a supervisory role.
• Expert knowledge of Title IV regulations, compliance audits, and federal program reviews.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

Required skills

• Hands‑on experience with COD, NSLDS, SAIG/Department of Education systems.
• Proficiency in EdExpress financial aid management system.
• Experience integrating financial aid systems with student information systems (SIS).

What we offer

• Salary $80,000–$110,000 per year, based on experience.
