Director of Finance

About the role

AdventHealth is hiring a Director of Finance for its Redmond facility. The role assists leadership in the overall financial management of the hospital, manages staff performance and department responsibilities, and acts as the department's spokesperson on fiscal matters.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the budgeting process and oversee annual inventory counts for various departments
• Ensure monthly closing entries, statistics and capital information are prepared timely and accurately
• Coordinate internal, external and regulatory audits, and act as department spokesperson on fiscal matters, maintaining contact with auditors, insurance and Medicare officials
• Prepare or direct the compilation of financial and operating reports, including annual budget, third-party reimbursement, account reconciliations, audit reports, equipment, construction and facility reports
• Recommend ways to reduce operating costs and increase revenues, advise administration on adverse fiscal trends, and communicate new guidelines and regulations to personnel
• Approve and maintain department policies, objectives, performance improvement programs and safety standards

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance or Accounting (Master's preferred)
• 5+ years of hospital accounting experience (required); 3+ years of healthcare financial management experience preferred
• Knowledge of healthcare accounting methods, costing methodologies, utilization measurements and financial modeling
• Preferred: CPA certification, familiarity with GAAP, and proven knowledge of revenue cycle concepts

• Microsoft Office: Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
• PeopleSoft and other financial software (preferred)
• Strong organization, analytical and problem-solving skills, and effective written and oral communication
• Ability to work in matrix and fast-paced project environments
