Director of Finance

About the role

The Director of Finance will lead all financial activities for Brickell Arch, a Luxury Collection Hotel in Miami. Reporting to the General Manager and corporate office, you will safeguard assets, ensure accurate reporting, and support strategic decision‑making for the property.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and direct daily financial operations, ensuring compliance with GAAP and HEI standards.
• Prepare and present timely financial reports in line with HMA requirements.
• Conduct special financial analyses requested by the General Manager or corporate office.
• Communicate financial performance and insights to the ownership group.
• Participate actively in Executive Committee and staff meetings.
• Assist department managers with statement analysis, distributions, and other financial data.
• Maintain effective cash‑control systems, conduct audits, and produce period‑end reports.
• Review security over assets, audit inventories, and address internal‑audit findings.
• Interpret and apply policies, leases, contracts, tax laws, and labor regulations.
• Lead budget preparation and cost‑benefit evaluations.

Required profile

• Extensive experience supervising finance functions in a hotel or hospitality environment.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, internal audit processes, and cash‑control best practices.
• Proven ability to prepare accurate financial statements and reports.
• Excellent communication skills for interaction with ownership and executive teams.
• Deep understanding of sales‑tax, innkeeper, liquor, and labor regulations.
• Experience with lease, contract, and covenant analysis.
