Director of Finance & Accounting

About the role

Our client, a globally recognized retail brand, is seeking a Director of Finance & Accounting to lead financial operations for its U.S. business. This senior position combines stewardship of accounting functions with strategic partnership to senior leadership, driving profitability and growth.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee all accounting operations, including general ledger, AP/AR, inventory accounting, reconciliations and cash management.
• Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and annual close processes and prepare financial statements and variance analyses.
• Provide financial insights, models and recommendations to support executive decision‑making and evaluate strategic initiatives.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting, long‑range planning and cash‑flow forecasting.
• Maintain strong internal controls, ensure compliance with accounting standards and coordinate audits and tax filings.
• Track key business metrics and identify opportunities to improve profitability and operational efficiency.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related field.
• 10+ years of progressive finance and accounting experience with leadership responsibility.
• Experience in a retail or product‑driven organization.
• Proven ability to partner with senior leadership and influence business decisions.
• Excellent communication, presentation and leadership abilities.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel proficiency.
• Strong aptitude with financial systems and reporting tools.
