Director of Evaluation and Reporting

About the role

The University of Maryland Extension seeks a strategic leader to oversee program evaluation and reporting across its agricultural and natural resources initiatives. Reporting to the Associate Dean/Associate Director, the Director will shape how the Extension measures impact, complies with civil‑rights data requirements, and communicates results to stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Lead needs‑assessment, program planning, evaluation design, and impact reporting for Extension programs and applied research projects.
• Manage data collection, analysis, and submission of the annual USDA NIFA Plan of Work and other federal accountability reports.
• Ensure civil‑rights compliance through systematic data collection, management, and reporting.
• Develop and maintain a statewide system of priority‑area indicators, tools, and dashboards for program outcomes.
• Collaborate with Assistant Directors and County/City Extension Directors to identify programming priorities.
• Design and deliver professional‑development training to build evaluation capacity among faculty, staff, and administrators.

Required profile

• Proven leadership experience in program evaluation, reporting, and data‑driven decision‑making.
• Familiarity with USDA NIFA reporting requirements and civil‑rights compliance processes.
• Strong collaborative skills to work with academic, research, and extension partners.
• Ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable insights for diverse audiences.
