Director of Digital Fundraising Strategy

About the role

The Director of Digital Fundraising Strategy will lead the overall digital fundraising strategy for Cleveland Clinic, aligning initiatives with philanthropic priorities and organizational goals. This senior position works remotely from Northeast Ohio, Monday through Friday, and reports to the Philanthropy Institute.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and lead digital fundraising initiatives, including donor acquisition, engagement, retention, and revenue growth.
• Identify individual and corporate sponsorship prospects using databases and internal networks.
• Coordinate donor communications, stewardship reporting, and volunteer engagement for fundraising events.
• Establish KPIs, use data‑driven insights to evaluate performance, and optimize digital campaigns.
• Research industry trends, evaluate emerging technologies, and manage third‑party vendors such as GoFundMe Pro, HubSpot, Twilio, and Double the Donation.
• Partner with internal stakeholders across philanthropy, marketing, IT, legal, compliance, and finance to ensure alignment and risk management.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree.
• At least five years of experience in project management, donor relations, event management, marketing, or corporate sponsorship solicitation.
• Demonstrated success in event management and marketing strategies.
• Excellent oral and written communication and strong organizational skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a highly interactive, dynamic team environment.

Required skills

• Experience with digital fundraising platforms and donor engagement tools (e.g., GoFundMe Pro, HubSpot, Twilio, Double the Donation).
• Knowledge of CRM systems and data‑driven fundraising analytics.
• Understanding of compliance, privacy, and risk considerations related to digital fundraising and donor data.
