About the role

Alta Planning + Design is looking for an experienced Director of Civil Engineering to lead its East Region engineering practice. Based in Atlanta, you will shape sustainable transportation solutions across multiple offices while driving business performance and operational excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with the Engineering Director to set strategic direction for civil engineering projects in the East region.
• Oversee project delivery for offices in Atlanta, Durham, Minneapolis, Baltimore, and Nashville, ensuring technical quality and community impact.
• Promote innovation in multimodal and sustainable transportation design.
• Foster a collaborative culture that supports professional growth and talent development.
• Monitor financial and operational metrics to meet performance targets.
