Full-Time Maintenance Technician (HVAC)

About the role

Atlanta Technical College is seeking two Full‑Time Maintenance Technicians (HVAC) to join its Facilities and Operations Division. Working under the Maintenance Supervisor, you will ensure the college’s buildings, equipment and grounds operate safely and efficiently.

Key responsibilities

• Perform installation, maintenance and repair of HVAC equipment, boilers, electrical and plumbing systems, as well as building furnishings.
• Conduct daily rounds of critical equipment, report issues, and adjust thermostats, control panels and sensors for proper operation.
• Assist with renovation projects, move set‑ups, event setups, and ground‑maintenance activities such as landscaping and parking‑lot upkeep.
• Maintain records, logs, and coordinate work of custodial staff as directed.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED plus at least one year of related skilled‑trade experience.
• Preferably two or more years as a Maintenance Technician, HVAC license or certification, and a valid driver’s license.
• Ability to lift, push and carry heavy items and read construction plans or blueprints.

Required skills

• HVAC system maintenance and repair.
• Boiler, electrical and plumbing installation and servicing.
• Carpentry and landscaping basics.
• Use of hand and power tools, and familiarity with job‑related computer software.
