Director of Cardiac Cath Lab

About the role

The Director of the Cath Lab will lead the interventional cardiology department at Palestine Regional Medical Center, a 150‑bed hospital recognized for safety and quality excellence. This senior position oversees clinical performance, staffing, budgeting, and regulatory compliance while ensuring the highest standards of patient care.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement departmental goals, strategies, and standards aligned with clinical, legal, and regulatory expectations.
• Manage daily operations, including workflow, staffing, scheduling, and equipment readiness.
• Oversee recruitment, onboarding, performance evaluation, and continuing education for all Cath Lab staff.
• Lead quality‑improvement projects, analyze performance metrics, and ensure compliance with accreditation standards.
• Prepare and monitor the department budget, control inventory, and manage vendor relationships.
• Collaborate with cardiologists and multidisciplinary teams to ensure procedural excellence.
• Participate in procedures as a scrub tech or assisting RN when needed.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in nursing or a related field (required); Master’s degree preferred.
• Current RN licensure in the state of practice.
• Basic Life Support (BCLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications upon hire.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in a cardiac cath lab or related cardiovascular setting.
