About the role

The Director of Acquisitions leads the strategic sourcing of fine art, antiques, jewelry, and luxury collectibles. This senior position shapes the acquisition pipeline, negotiates high‑value deals, and ensures the company maintains its reputation as a premier destination for collectors.

Key responsibilities

• Build and maintain a proactive, high‑value acquisitions pipeline across multiple categories.
• Develop and execute acquisition strategies aligned with company growth goals.
• Identify, evaluate, and secure high‑margin acquisition opportunities, including off‑market deals.
• Forecast market trends and capitalize on emerging demand.
• Represent the business at auctions, fairs, private sales, and industry events.
• Lead thorough due‑diligence processes covering provenance, condition, valuation, and authentication.
• Negotiate terms with sellers, agents, and intermediaries to achieve favorable purchase conditions.
• Coordinate with legal, finance, and internal specialists to complete transactions.
• Communicate acquisition strategy, progress, and outcomes to senior leadership.
• Partner with sales, marketing, and operations to maximize post‑acquisition success.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Art History, Business, Finance, or a related field.
• 8+ years of experience in acquisitions, art markets, luxury goods, or related sectors.
• Proven track record of successful high‑value acquisitions and a strong industry reputation.
• Demonstrated ability to source, negotiate, and close deals across fine art, antiques, jewelry, or luxury collectibles.
