Director II – Safety, Quality & Patient Experience

About the role

The Director II leads safety, quality and patient experience (SQPE) across a sub‑market and serves as the onsite SQPE leader for the largest hospital within that sub‑market. The role works Monday‑Friday, 8:00 am‑5:00 pm, collaborating with clinical and operational teams to drive measurable improvements.

Key responsibilities

• Direct SQPE activities, ensure compliance with reporting, accreditation and governance requirements.
• Lead sub‑market and hospital SQPE departments to apply consistent assurance and improvement processes.
• Monitor clinical outcomes, identify improvement opportunities and lead improvement initiatives.
• Assist facility leaders with survey preparation and manage regulatory/accreditation surveys.
• Coordinate public reporting of quality data and act as liaison with reporting agencies.

Required profile

• Master’s degree or bachelor’s degree with at least 7 years of progressive healthcare management experience (or 6 years with a relevant certification).
• Full understanding of hospital requirements for safety, quality and patient experience.
• Experience in staff development, performance evaluation and hiring for direct reports.

Required skills

• Certified Professional Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) or equivalent.
• Registered Nurse (RN) credential preferred.
• Certified Patient Safety Professional (CPPS), Certified Joint Commission Professional (CJCP) or similar certifications.
• Certified in Infection Control (CIC) and process‑improvement certifications.
