Director, GH&B AI-Ready Data Foundation & Governance

About the role

The Director, GH&B AI-Ready Data Foundation & Governance owns the data foundation powering Pfizer's Global Hospital & Biosimilars (GH&B) business. The role is accountable for the GH&B AI-Ready Data Warehouse (built on Snowflake), the ontologies and relationships linking commercial, manufacturing, supply and pricing data, and data governance standards across the business. It is a hands-on individual contributor role with no people management responsibilities.

Key responsibilities

• Own the GH&B AI-Ready Data Warehouse (Snowflake) and its data model, and operate the AI and analytics layer built on it
• Establish and maintain ontologies and semantic relationships across manufacturing, commercial, supply and pricing data
• Own end-to-end data governance, enforce Pfizer enterprise data standards, access controls, quality rules and stewardship, and set up automated data quality monitoring and alerting
• Own production reliability of data applications and platforms (Athena, NEO, GH&B Navigator dashboard, shortage and flu prediction models), including uptime, freshness, incident response and root-cause analysis
• Monitor data quality feeding AI/ML models, detect drift, and partner with the Advanced Data Analytics & AI Solutions team
• Set version control and testing/release processes for the warehouse, ontology, dashboards and models
• Administer role-based access to data platforms and maintain technical documentation and runbooks
• Direct contingent contractor resources building and maintaining AI and analytics models and production applications
• Evaluate new data and ontology requests and partner with GH&B stakeholders on the data and governance roadmap

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree with 8+ years of experience, or Master's with 7+ years, or PhD with 5+ years
• Experience in data architecture, data management, data engineering or data governance
• Pharmaceutical, biosimilars or hospital-market industry experience
• Experience directing contingent contractor or vendor engineering resources
• Ability to influence senior stakeholders and work without direct authority
• Permanent work authorization in the United States; visa sponsorship not available

Required skills

• High proficiency in SQL and Python, with regular production coding
• Experience architecting for unstructured data (documents, text, transcripts, images)
• Hands-on experience with Collibra for data cataloguing, lineage and governance
• Experience setting up data ontologies, taxonomies or knowledge-graph models
• Applied knowledge of AI and machine learning concepts
• Preferred: advanced degree, DAMA CDMP credential, Snowflake, ontology tooling (RDF/OWL, Protégé), Collibra/Alation/Purview, Pfizer's Unified Data Hub and Finance United Data Hub

What we offer

• Annual base salary of $162,900 to $271,500, with a 20% bonus target and share-based long-term incentives
