About the role
The Director of Field Sales for the Navy and Marine Corps is a senior player‑coach leader who drives personal sales results while guiding a team of field sales managers and representatives. This role combines direct customer engagement with strategic territory planning, pipeline development, and execution of the business unit’s sales strategy.
Key responsibilities
- Generate personal revenue and influence overall field sales performance across the service vertical.
- Partner with the VP, Business Unit Leader to implement sales strategy, territory coverage models, and performance priorities.
- Coach sales managers and representatives on deal strategy, escalation support, and execution discipline.
- Develop and execute territory and account plans aligned with company objectives.
- Maintain an active pipeline of opportunities, quotes, and orders, driving progression from identification to order execution.
- Maintain direct relationships with end users, contracting offices, and program stakeholders; conduct regular in‑person visits and solution briefings.
- Monitor DoD budget cycles, appropriations, and funding mechanisms to anticipate customer buying behavior.
- Collaborate with inside sales, contracts, pricing, and operations teams to ensure order fulfillment and customer satisfaction.
Required profile
- Senior sales leader with proven ability to meet personal and team revenue targets.
- Experience in field sales within the defense or government sector, preferably with Navy/Marine Corps customers.
- Strong coaching and team development skills, with a track record of building high‑performing sales teams.
- Deep understanding of DoD budgeting, appropriations, and procurement processes.
- Excellent relationship‑building skills with end users, contracting offices, and program stakeholders.
