Director, Company Planning
Everlane · Los Angeles
Job description
About the role
Everlane is looking for a Director to lead its Company Planning function, with a focus on commercial finance and embedded business partnership. You will work directly with operating teams to develop and challenge the sales, margin, inventory, marketing, channel and customer assumptions behind the business forecast, turning insights into actionable recommendations. The role sits within an integrated finance organization working closely with SHEIN Group FP&A, and reports to senior Everlane leadership. It is a full-time position based in the Los Angeles office (Downtown LA) with a hybrid schedule of three days in the office per week.
Key responsibilities
- Sales and margin planning: own the integrated sales forecast across channels and forecast gross margin and its drivers (pricing, promotions, markdowns, product cost, freight, duties, channel mix); partner with E-commerce, Retail, Merchandising and Marketing on assumptions, reforecasting and daily and weekly sales reporting.
- Inventory and working capital: connect the sales forecast to inventory, receipts and purchasing; forecast inventory levels, turns and weeks of supply; model implications for margin and cash flow.
- Marketing effectiveness: develop investment plans and expected outcomes with Marketing/Growth, evaluate CAC, ROAS, contribution margin and productivity, and support allocation across channels and customer segments.
- Customer planning: forecast new and retained customers, average order value, purchase frequency and revenue per customer, and translate customer trends into sales and marketing decisions.
- Annual budget and integrated planning: own the annual budget and rolling forecasts, coordinate functional leaders and Group FP&A, integrate plans, align expenses and quantify risks and scenarios.
- Business partnership: work with functional leaders to create expense forecasts, challenge assumptions and establish ownership of forecast drivers and accountability for results.
- Unit planning: build granular unit forecasts for receipts, shipments, returns and sales by channel, and model per-unit revenue, margin and operating costs as inputs to Group financial forecasts.
Required profile
- 10+ years of progressive experience in company planning, commercial finance or FP&A, with ownership of commercial forecasts and business partnership.
- Experience in e-commerce, retail, apparel or consumer businesses, including hands-on sales, margin, inventory and channel analysis.
- Strong customer planning and digital marketing measurement experience, linking marketing investment to revenue and profitability.
- Track record of working with operating leaders to build forecasts, challenge assumptions and set accountability.
- Ability to turn complex analysis into clear recommendations and to prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
Required skills
- Hands-on building of driver-based financial models and scenario analysis.
- Detailed analysis of customer, unit and channel data.
What we offer
- Annual compensation range of $180,000 - $230,000 for the Los Angeles area.
- Benefits package including 401K match, merchandise discount, 13 paid holidays and flexible PTO.
