About the role
Catholic Charities of Long Island seeks compassionate Direct Support Professionals to provide dignified, person‑centered care to developmentally disabled residents in a group‑home setting. You will help residents live with hope by supporting daily activities, skill development, and safe outings.
Key responsibilities
- Transport and safeguard residents during outings.
- Coach residents in skill development and administer medications.
- Provide personal care and assist with daily living tasks.
- Perform household maintenance, including meal preparation.
- Complete other duties as assigned.
Required profile
- High school diploma or GED.
- Valid NYS driver’s license.
- Ability to lift up to 250 lb with two persons and perform stooping, crouching tasks.
- Calm, non‑confrontational response to physical or emotional outbursts.
What we offer
- Base pay of $21 per hour (weekend differential adds $1 per hour).
- Full‑time evening, part‑time weekend and early‑morning shifts available.
