About the role
Catholic Charities of Long Island seeks a part‑time Residential RN to provide nursing oversight for residents with developmental disabilities in a community residence in Copiague, NY.
Key responsibilities
- Monitor and assess residents for acute illness or chronic condition changes within 24 hours of notification.
- Conduct weekly on‑site nursing visits, perform health assessments, review medical records and ensure timely implementation of medical orders.
- Communicate with medical providers to meet individual health needs and provide staff in‑service training on medical concerns.
- Ensure safe medication administration in accordance with physician prescriptions and regulations.
Required profile
- Current NYS RN licensure.
- Associate’s degree in nursing (Bachelor’s preferred).
- Experience with intellectually and developmentally disabled populations is helpful.
- Valid NYS driver’s license and ability to work autonomously and collaboratively.
Required skills
- Medication administration following physician orders.
- Conducting health assessments and reviewing medical records.
