Digital Services Librarian

About the role

The Digital Services Librarian/Instructor leads the university’s digital initiatives, supporting faculty, students, and researchers with emerging technologies, digitization projects, and instructional services. This full‑time position reports to library leadership and collaborates across academic departments.

Key responsibilities

• Provide consultation, training, and support for digital tools and platforms that enhance research, teaching, and learning.
• Investigate, evaluate, and implement new technology resources for classroom integration and research applications.
• Manage all aspects of digitization initiatives, including repository functionality, accessibility, budgeting, equipment, and supplies.
• Lead digital humanities projects and oversee the Digital Humanities Lab, recording space, and Special Collections & Archives.
• Create and maintain LibWizard forms for departmental operations.
• Deliver library instruction and research skills workshops in classroom, online, and reference desk settings.
• Serve as liaison to academic departments for collection development and information‑literacy curriculum.
• Participate in university and library committees and stay current with emerging trends through professional development.

Required profile

• Master’s of Library Science from an ALA‑accredited program (recent graduates and current students encouraged to apply).
• 1‑2 years of relevant experience preferred.
• Experience with academic library digital humanities initiatives is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of academic librarianship principles and practices.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Experience using library software applications, including LibWizard.
• Ability to manage audiovisual equipment.
• Hands‑on experience with digitization workflows and equipment.
