College Success Coach

About the role

The College Success Coach supports prospective and current students in navigating the admissions process, financial aid, and first‑year transition. Working primarily on the ECU campus and at partner high schools in Ada and Noble, the Coach builds relationships with students, families, and school staff to promote college enrollment and persistence.

Key responsibilities

• Guide first‑year students on campus to ensure a successful freshman experience and encourage return as sophomores.
• Assist Ada Public Schools and Noble Public Schools seniors with post‑secondary planning, including FAFSA completion and enrollment paperwork.
• Welcome and support visitors from the 13 GEAR UP schools during campus tours.
• Deliver presentations to senior classes at Ada High School and Noble High School about college pathways.
• Complete required GEAR UP training, maintain accurate data entry, and report activities to the GEAR UP Grant Administrator and ECU supervisors.
• Participate in regular meetings, staff briefings, and collaborative sessions with coaches from SEOSU, NSU, UCO, and SWOSU.
• Promote ECU and other Oklahoma public colleges while providing general college‑access information.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree (required); experience in a college or school setting is preferred.
• Strong interpersonal skills for building relationships with students, educators, and administrators.
• Ability to manage multiple on‑site responsibilities across campus and partner schools.
