Digital Science Development Specialist

About the role

The Digital Science Development Specialist will identify, develop, and implement digital science capabilities to accelerate product and technology development across AAD laboratories. This role serves as the technical owner of the Digital Lab pilot, connecting scientists, product developers, modeling resources, digital teams, and data specialists to translate R&D challenges into scalable data‑driven solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and prioritize digital science opportunities that accelerate innovation and improve laboratory productivity.
• Partner with product developers, laboratory scientists, and SMEs to translate technical challenges into digital and data‑driven solutions.
• Collaborate with Corporate Research Laboratory modeling teams to deploy predictive modeling, simulation, machine learning, and advanced analytics.
• Lead pilot projects involving AI, digital science, and data‑driven experimentation.
• Define laboratory data requirements and work with digital and data teams to improve data quality, accessibility, and usability.
• Support development and implementation of predictive models for formulation, process, application, and performance challenges.
• Drive adoption of digital tools, workflows, and best practices across laboratory organizations.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Mechanical Engineering, Data Science, Computer Science, or Statistics.
• At least seven years of experience working across multidisciplinary R&D, modeling, digital, or business teams.
• Strong project leadership, communication, collaboration, and influencing skills.
• Demonstrated passion for innovation and emerging digital technologies.
