Digital Forensic Examiner

About the role

CACI is hiring a Digital Forensic Examiner for its Forensics Team at Fort Bragg, North Carolina, working alongside the Airborne and Special Forces. The examiner collects and processes Collected Exploitable Material (CEM) so that triage and technical exploitation meet intelligence requirements, works independently in isolated settings and responds quickly to technical needs on computers, mobile devices and biometrics. Reports on exploitation and coordination of technical exploitation operations are required. Relocation is available to out-of-state candidates.

Key responsibilities

• Collect and process CEM, ensuring triage and technical exploitation follow organizational intelligence requirements
• Work independently in isolated environments and respond quickly to technical requirements for computer, mobile and biometric forensics
• Generate reports on exploitation and respond to analytical requirements
• Coordinate, manage and synchronize technical exploitation operations
• Acquire data from multimedia devices (computers, hard drives, thumb drives, SD cards, GPS, CD/DVD, DVR, mobile devices, UAVs) in a forensically sound way
• Locate, exploit and report on recovered data such as contacts, call logs, browser history, chat data, third-party app data, geo-coordinates, activity timelines, images and multimedia
• Travel within CONUS to training venues, research and develop, evaluate and recommend technologies, and maintain documentation of processes and procedures

Required profile

• Current DoD Top Secret/SCI clearance
• Experience with computer and mobile device forensics
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Ability to work as a team member and independently with little supervision
• Desired: bachelor's degree and/or quantifiable experience in the DoD, law enforcement, commercial vendors or equivalent government agencies; GIAC or IACIS certification is a significant benefit
