Software Engineer (GIS Enterprise)

About the role

CACI is hiring a Software Engineer (GIS Enterprise) to join a selective professional IT team supporting the operational planning cycle for US Special Operations Command. The position is based in Fayetteville, NC, for a Department of Defense organization, and requires a minimum TS/SCI security clearance. It suits self-starters with advanced experience in planning, implementing, developing and maintaining GIS Enterprise applications who can work independently.

Key responsibilities

• Apply advanced software engineering techniques to analyze, design and modify applications and databases for GIS Enterprise.
• Develop, deploy and maintain custom and ad-hoc applications supporting geospatial intelligence analysis workflows.
• Recommend technologies that improve the presentation and use of enterprise GIS products and contribute to integrated systems planning.
• Troubleshoot technical issues, resolve project challenges and understand user requirements to deliver software solutions for process improvement.
• Write technical documentation and work collaboratively in a team.

Required profile

• Active TS/SCI clearance (minimum clearance to start).
• 8 years of software development experience.
• Ability to design and evaluate high-level/expert intelligence systems.
• Strong oral and written communication skills, teamwork and ability to direct subordinates.
• Ability to manage static and dynamic streaming geospatial data.
• Must obtain and maintain the appropriate DODD 8570.01 (Security+) certification.
• Willingness to expand knowledge and meet deadlines.

Required skills

• Proficiency in C# and Python.
• Custom tool development using RDBMS, NoSQL data stores and distributed processing of large datasets.
